The Soundsquatch & A Stick

This week the Soundsquatch recorded a couple of simple sounds for us.  Not a lot to work with in terms of raw material, but we were still able to make a cool sound design element by manipulating the audio, and mixing them with some other sound.

Here are the basics…

1.  We compressed and reversed the metal sound.

2.  We bent the sound of the ‘squatch rubbing a stick on a piece of plastic, and created a slightly rhythmic sound with it.

3.  We let that rhythmic sound ramp into an impact sound (kick drum) and we layered a little bit of bent sound on that kick to make it audible, and sound like an impact..

4.  We put a little bit of reverb at the end of the sound on the right channel to really show it moving to the right.

5.  We gave the sasquatch a piece of beef jerky for bringing us some raw sound to work with.
